Podcast
Today in class we listened to a podcast. This podcast was about Trump's handling on immigration. We only listened to the first 10 minutes or so of it, but it was very informative. I learned some very interesting facts. For example, I had no idea that the United States turned away 900 Jews in 1941. This was right before World War II started and The Jewish people came to the United States from Germany to be safe from the Nazis. I find it horrible that the United Sates would turn them away like that and leave them out there to be killed. After this happened about 700 of them were put in consentration camps and eventually killed. Then once WWII ended the U.S. felt bad about this and tried to save their butts by signing onto letting refugees into the country if they were in danger. They did not however do this all the time. As it would turn out, the Unites States only let in some immigrants from communist countries because they wanted to make themselves look good.
