Today I went to class and put my books down, then had to go
to the IT guy because I broke my computer. I was very stressed out and
flustered, but then he took care of it and I went back to class. Once I was
back in class, we were reading a packet about migration. I learned many
different interesting facts. I learned that about 80 million people migrated to
the United States from the years 1820 to 2015. It’s very interesting as well
that over half of these people were still alive in 2015. The United States had
three main eras of immigration. These were colonial settlement in the 17th
and 18th centuries. Then it was mass European immigration in the 19th
and 20th centuries. Finally, it was Asian and Latin immigration in
the 29th and early 21st centuries. There is still a lot
of immigration but it isn’t in the huge masses from certain places like it used
to be.
