2000 BC- Minoan civilization prospers on Greece
1500 BC- Mycenaen culture thrives on Greek mainland
1200 BC- Trojan war takes place
750 BC- Greek city states flourish
479 BC- Greece triumphs in Persian War
334 BC- Alexander starts to build his empire

Geography-
- 3/4 of Greece is made up of mountains
- 1/4 of Greece is tiny fertile valleys
- Included 2000 islands in Aegean and Ionian Seas
- Lacked natural resources like timber, metal, etc.
- Mountains divided land into different regions
- Stony land
- Difficult transportation

Government-
- Not one single gov
- Developed small, independent communities
- Greeks stayed loyal to local communities
